Do you want your body and mind to work together more closely while out on the golf course? Ballroom dancing is a great cross training activity for improving your golf game because it is a geometrical activity. It will help you to look at space, time, and obstacles in a different manner than you do now. You will improve your three dimensional thought processes while learning to plan ahead and compensate for the unexpected twist and turn.
The dance can be compared to the combination of clubs and swings you need to accomplish your destination, sinking the ball. Your partner is like the hills and breezes you can encounter on the course; you can work with her to help you or work against her and hinder your goal. The floor is the green you are moving across with a desire to get your partner and yourself to the correct position to add the next step, just like your attempt to place the ball at the best part of the green for your next swing. Other couples on the floor are obstacles each with their own style and each presenting a different level of difficulty to get passed.
If you have a good instructor, your posture will improve significantly as you learn various smooth and latin dances. Foot placement, head placement, arm placement, and rhythm are very important for ballroom dancing. That sounds like golf too.
